Dominica has two airports. The primary airport is Douglas-Charles Airport (DOM) located on the northeast coast of the island. Visitors connect through the major regional hubs of Antigua, Barbados, St. Maarten, Guadeloupe, and Puerto Rico. Some flights also come from St. Lucia, Tortola, and the US Virgin Islands. Additionally, there is the smaller Canefield Airport (DCF). It is located five minutes from the capital, Roseau. Most flights into Canefield are from the US Virgin Islands, Guadeloupe, Martinique, and Antigua and are privately operated or charters.
Another option to get to Dominica is via the Ferry. The ferry services are available from the neighboring islands of Guadeloupe, Martinique and St. Lucia. Two Ferry companies serve Dominica, L’Express Des Iles and Val Ferry.
Please note: that due to Covid19, there are reduced flight options available. Also, the ferry services are not currently operating to Dominica.
When in Dominica
Rodney’s Wellness Retreat is located in Soufriere, on the south of the Caribbean Coast of Dominica. Here are the options available so visitors know how to get here.
On Public Transport (Bus)
Coming from Roseau, you will easily get a bus to Soufriere village. It is only a 20 to 25 minute journey between Soufriere and Roseau. So, you should enjoy the journey by admiring the Caribbean coast on your way.
When you get into Roseau, the Soufriere Bus Stop is located on Old Street, behind the Old Market Plaza. Just ask your bus driver to be taken to Rodney’s Wellness Retreat or CarRod’s Gardens in Kanawa Brooklyn, Soufriere.
If you have your own car, it is an easy drive. Start at the Dame Eugenia Charles Blvd (Bay Front) and head south along Victoria Street. Continue along this road, passing through the communities of Newtown and Loubiere. Continue on the Loubiere Road through the village of Point Michel. Stay on this road until you arrive in our village, Soufriere. Upon entering the village, you will meet a three-road intersection, take the sharp left and continue driving straight ahead. Take the left at the fork in the road when you arrive below the Soufriere Primary School. Our entrance will be on your left (across from the playing field).
